Lagos residents ordered to stay home to ensure Buhari’s “smooth” movement
The Lagos State government has declared Thursday, March 29, a work-free day in honour of President Muhammadu Buhari’s two-day visit to the state.
Buhari would be attending a colloquium marking the 66th birthday of APC chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at Victoria Island.
The president is also expected to be at the official flag-off ceremony for the construction of the Lekki Deep Sea Port Project in Epe.
Also, the president would tour the Eko Atlantic City and inaugurate the Ikeja Bus Terminal.
Police commissioner Imohimi Edgal said today that there would be temporary road closure and diversions in some areas.
The routes to be closed are Ikeja, Agege, Maryland, Ikoyi, and Victoria Island.
He said the temporary road closure and diversions would be within Ikeja, Maryland, Agege Motor Road, Victoria Island and Ikoyi axis.
The police boss said closure of the routes is to ensure that Buhari’s visit to Lagos is “smooth, safe and hitch-free.”
Edgal said he was sorry for any inconvenience the development might cause all Lagos residents.
