Kuje hospital: Help, hope arrive for malnourished girl

The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS), Dr. Ladi Hamalai has come to the aid of a malnourished girl child at the Kuje General Hospital.

The over one year old baby, Patricia Madaki who was receiving treatment at the hospital in Kuje was suffering from Protein Energy Malnutrition commonly known as Kwashiokor.

Dr. Hamalai who went to donate some items to facilitate health care in the hospital, immediately took pity on the child who was visibly malnourished and was already placed on oxygen.

Hamalai told the Medical Director of the Hospital that she would pay of the treatment and feeding cost of the child until she recovers.

While also taking a tour of the hospital, the NILS DG also promised to undertake the tiling of the delivery room which she said was not in the best of shapes.

Some of the items which the Institute donated to the hospital include: Thermometer, Nebuliser, Fan, air conditioner, plastic chairs and a television set.

While handing over the items, the DG said that the donation was the outcome a meeting held by the female staff of the institute during the World Women’s Day celebration.

The DG commended the medical director of the hospital for utilising the little equipment she had to ensure that patients were well attended to.

In her remark, the Medical Director of the hospital Dr Egbi Tarbunbe thanked the Director General of the institute for her kind gestures.

She urges other Nigerians to use their good offices to affect the lives of the less privileged members of the society.
