Kogi police arrest 16 suspected kidnappers dealing in human parts

Sixteen suspected kidnappers allegedly dealing in human organs have been arrested by the police in Kogi.

Police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, said the suspects whose ages range from 16 to 45, were led by one Yakubu Hamidu.

He identified the other members of the gang as Abdullahi Ibrahim, Shaibu Adamu, Ubile Attah, Julius Hassan, Shehu Haliru, Abdullahi Tijjani, Sale Adama, Musa Abdullahi, Yakubu Yahaya, Adama Shagari, Isaac Alfa, Baba Isah, Idoko Benjamin, Akwu Audu and Abdullahi Zakari.

Moshood said one of the suspects, Ubile Attah masterminded the kidnap and murder of a Police Inspector, Abdul Alfa on November 28, 2017 and snatched his rifle.

“Yakubu Hamidu, Gang Leader (Vigilante Commander of Ankpa), a native of Ankpa and the vigilante leader in the community along with his vigilante guards are the hit-men responsible for the killings of several victims and removing their organs and sell them to personalities within and outside the State for rituals,” Moshood said.

The police spokesman added that Shuaibu Adamu a.k.a AYE MARINA, without known profession or any known means of livelihood, was suspected also to have built and own mansions in Ankpa.

Adamu also own four filling stations in Ankpa, and another four at Onyangede in Benue State, with the proceeds suspected to be from crime.

“The suspects further confessed to the killings and removal of body parts of the following victims James, Christopher, Mohammed, Small Case (Real name unknwon), Omu and Inspector Abdul Alfa,” he added.
