“Killed” FUNAAB student “miraculously wakes up in hospital”
All at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Abisoye Taiwo was reportedly shot in the head by a police officer while protesting the killing of a colleague officers allegedly failed to protect from armed robbers.
A year one Banking and Finance died after he was stabbed by armed bandits who attacked students staying off campus, Wednesday night.
Taiwo, a year one student of Forestry and Wildlife Management, joined his colleagues on Thursday morning to protest the attacks and the death.
“It was not an accident,” the witness, a post-graduate student of the university, told NewsroomNG.
“The policeman shot the student in the head in a bid to stop them from protesting. The shot was not directed upward, so it wasn’t an accident.
“It was after the shooting that the students started stoning the policemen who eventually took to their heels,” the student said.
Taiwo appeared lifeless after being shot. He was presumed dead.
The young man, however, came back to life after being taken to hospital. Reports reaching us say Taiwo is being taken to UCH Ibadan so doctors can save his life.
The police are yet to respond to our queries about the conduct of their men during the protest..
