JUST IN: Tribunal declares Adeleke winner of Osun governorship election
Senator Ademola Adeleke has been adjudged winner of the Osun State governorship election which held last September.
The tribunal ruled Friday afternoon that APC’s Gboyega Oyetola was wrongfully returned as governor of the state.
The tribunal held that the Certificate of Return issued to Governor Oyetola be withdrawn and that a fresh one should be issued to Senator Adeleke of the PDP, having fulfilled the conditions of the law.
Adeleke had polled a total of 254,698 votes to defeat Oyetola who polled a total of 254,345 votes, before a rerun was declared by INEC.
A three-man panel of the tribunal led by Ibrahim Sirajo has ruled that the rerun was illegal.
