JUST IN: Saraki booted out of National Assembly after losing Saturday’s election
February 24, 2019
Senate President Bukola Saraki will not return to the National Assembly in May following confirmation that he lost the Kwara Central Senatorial District election to Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the APC in Saturday’s poll.
Reports Sunday night say Saraki lost at least three of four LGAs in the district.
The Senate President had been widely blamed for the lack of coordination of the National Assembly in the last four years.
Locals in Kwara State had, in the lead up to the general election, adopted the ‘O to ge (enough is enough)’ slogan to show disapproval of his stranglehold on the state’s affairs.
INEC is expected to begin to give confirmation of election results from 11 a.m Monday.
