“Jealous” LAUTECH final year student stabs boyfriend to death

A moment of rage has landed a final year student of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Abiodun Olabisi, in a hot mess with police authorities in Oyo.

Police say the 23-year-old stabbed her boyfriend, Adegun Lekan, to death with a kitchen knife during a rage triggered by jealousy.

The students, police say, were live-in lovers at Phoenix Area, Stadium Road, Ogbomosho until the unfortunate incident.

Lekan was reported to be a fresh graduate of the institution who was awaiting his call-up for youth service.

Police boss in Oyo, Abiodun Odude said on Wednesday that the ugly incident at about 8pm on November 21 occurred as Olabisi quarreled with Lekan over other ladies.

“The victim was stabbed in the chest and was rushed to Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, but died before he could be attended to,” Odude said.

He said the weapon used to commit the murder had been recovered and Olabisi will be made to face the court for possible prosecution soon.
