INEC extends voters’ registration to August 31
INEC has announced an extension to the deadline for voters registration following complaints that many Nigerians have not been able to register.
The deadline, which was earlier given as August 17, has now been shifted to August 31.
The days for registration will include weekends, but not public holidays.
The electoral body also announced the registration of 23 political associations as new political parties in the country, bringing the total number of parties to 91.
