Imo police rescue Madonna University student from kidnappers
Police have successfully rescued an undergraduate of Madonna University identified as Esther Nnabuo.
Esther’s kidnappers had demanded a N200,000 ransom before she could be released, but the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command swooped in and arrested them.
State police commissioner, Dasuki Galadanchi said on Thursday that the girl was rescued unharmed and the N200,000 ransom was also recovered.
The CP also added that a mobile GSM that the suspects used for the negotiations was also recovered from the suspects.
“Sequel to the kidnap of Miss Esther Nnabuo, operatives of the command swiftly swung into action. The victim is a student of Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State. She was abducted at Ukwo Orji, in Mbaitoli LGA.
“In the course of the investigation, the victim was rescued unhurt through intelligence and data tracking analysis at Ukwo Orji Forest. Three suspects were arrested, while the victim’s telephone and the ransom were recovered,” he said.
Galadanchi who identified the names and local governments of the suspects as Onyekachi Chinemerem, Uchechukwu Nwakoma, and Onyewuchi Chibueze, further said they will be charged to court.
