Imo police arrest two wanted armed robbery suspects
Two alleged armed robbers and kidnappers have been arrested in Imo State by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS).
The suspects, whom the police identified as 30-year-old Uzoma Okafor and 32-year old Chinedu Nwoke, were arrested on Saturday in Owerri.
A police source said that the two suspects were overpowered during a gun battle with the F-Sars in Control Post axis in Owerri.
“One locally made Pistol with two unexpended cartridges and one expended cartridge were recovered, with a black Nissan Pathfinder with registration number – KTU 824 FD – was also recovered,” Punch quotes the source as saying.
One of the suspects, Nwoke a.k.a Assa, allegedly murdered a police officer and four other people – Orufe, Ogbuno, Obarammuo and Kwabaiko – in Imo State.
