Imo police arrest IPOB women demanding Nnamdi Kanu’s release
August 18, 2018
The Imo State Police Command on Friday arrested women protesters demanding the release of self-styled Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu’s whereabouts has been unknown since the military clamped down on the Biafra agitators in Anambra months ago.
Police say the protesters were guilty of conducting an unlawful assembly.
The protesters, armed with placards calling for secession, had insisted that no election would be conducted in Biafra-inclined states, and also accused the Nigerian Government of hiding Kanu.
