“I was hungry and frustrated” – ‘Mad man’ who hacked 2 Ogun primary school pupils to death
Lekan Adebisi, the suspected mentally deranged man who brutally hacked two four-year-old pupils of John’s Anglican Primary School, Agodo, Ogun state to death has blamed the on hunger and frustration.
The 28-year-old mad man had found a way into the school’s premises during lunch break on Monday and dealt severe machete blows to the pupils – Mubarak Kalesowo and Sunday Obituyi – killing them instantly.
“It was due to frustration,” Adebisi told reporters Thursday when questioned about his motive for the attack.
“When hunger gripped me and it became unbearable, I thought of my life and concluded that it was a bad life. Then I grabbed a machete. I was prepared to face the consequence.”
Adebisi, who was nabbed in a bush by the police and shot in the leg while resisting arrest, told newsmen he usually conducted private lessons for children and charged N20 per child.
“I did not eat for two weeks and I went out to beg other people for money. Nobody gave me money. When I had money, I took care of family members, friends and even outsiders,” he said.
State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, who paraded the suspect, said Adebisi would be charged to court soon.
