How to vote with no hassles in the presidential election

If everything goes according to plans and the rumoured postponement of the general election is not true, Nigerians from all around the country will be casting their votes in just some hours from now.

To ensure that you participate in the election without any hassles, here are the steps to follow.

1. Get to your polling unit as early as possible and confirm that you are at the right centre.

2. Go through the card verification exercise to ensure that your PVC is genuine and ready for use. INEC will scan all PVCs with Card Readers before anyone is allowed to vote.

3. Once your PVC is verified, get in line and wait for your turn to vote.

4. Stay away from discussing your choice of political candidate and don’t raise any controversial topic that may lead to arguments and violence.

5. Follow the appropriate directive of security operatives and INEC officials. Remain in an orderly manner.

6. When it gets to your turn to vote, quietly go through the process of casting your vote on the right column of the party’s logo.

7. You can use any finger to vote. Ensure that the ink does not extend to another column. Your vote will be voided if the mark exceeds the borders of the column.

Stay safe.
