Here’s how to watch fourth round of the Formula One World Championship

The previous round in Australia saw Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc race to his second victory of the season and open a 34-point lead at the top of the Drivers’ Championship standings. The Monegasque is now the clear favourite to go on and claim the title, though he says it’s way too early to be thinking of that.
“We are only at the third race so it is difficult to think about the championship,” said Leclerc. “But we have a very strong car, a very reliable car too, and for now we have always been there. I hope it continues like this and if it does we probably have chances for the championship, which makes me happy after the last two seasons, which have been difficult for the team.”
Reigning champion Max Verstappen, meanwhile, will be hoping his Red Bull can simply be reliable, having retired from the first and third rounds. In between, he won in Saudi Arabia to demonstrate that they have the pace to challenge the Ferraris for honours.
“We’re already miles behind,” Verstappen said. “I don’t even want to think about the championship fight at the moment. It is more important to finish races.”
The surprise second-place driver in the Championship is Mercedes’ George Russell, with the young British pilot compensating for the Silver Arrows’ relative lack of pace with consistency and a little bit of luck.
“It doesn’t matter how fast the car is, if you don’t make it to the end then you are not there to pick up the pieces,” said Russell. “It is just crazy to think [I am second in the Championship]. Someone told me and I didn’t believe them.”
He added, “We were probably the fifth-fastest team behind McLaren and Alpine yet here we are. It is a championship based on results not pace. But we know if we want to keep that position we need to find more performance in the car.”
The Emilia Romagna GP takes place at the iconic Imola Circuit (officially named Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari), a fast, sweeping track that returned to the calendar two years and has become one of the drivers’ favourites. It was won by Max Verstappen in a Red Bull in 2020, while last year’s edition brought victory for Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes.
