Guardiola, Hazard, Kane sweep EPL awards
English Premier League awards for February are out.
And here is how it is.
Pep is manager of the Month
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was named manager of the month for February, yet when the pictures emerged, he hardly looked too happy about it.
Guardiola was asked about the significance of the award – his first.
It appears there is none.
“(Antonio) Conte has already won a couple, so maybe they decided to give it to someone else,” he said.
Conte has won three awards but Chelsea only got seven points out of nine in February. City got a full house.
Hazard’s solo wonder against Arsenal wins goal of the month
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard wins the Goal of the Month for February for that mazy dribble and fine finish in the 3-1 win against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. “It is one of the best Premier League goals I have scored,” the 26-year-old Belgian says.
On form striker Harry Kane is player of the month
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is red-hot. He leads the chase for the Premier League Golden Boot after a run of 14 goals in 12 since the New Year. He’s score three hatricks this year alone.
And he said it’s down to one thing.
“My diet has changed since January,” Kane said.
“I’ve got a new chef who I’ve been working with to help with my nutrition, to get me a bit leaner and quicker and that seems to be working.”
