Four robbery suspects gang rape victim in Abia
Uchenna Nwoko Ohuru, according to the police in Abia, allegedly led his gang to a neighbour’s house to rob and rape her.
The suspects, Chukwuebuka Ukagu alias Ewi, Chukwuemeka Umunna aka Jaja Jaja and Innocent Joseph aka J Boy, were paraded on Monday.
According to the police boss in the state, CP Anthony Ogbizi, they had broken into the victim’s house and robbed her of her valuables, including one Tecno cell phone, one Lenovo cell phone, one Nokia cell phone, N2,340.
They all allegedly took turns to rape her afterwards.
Ogbizi said the victim was able to recognise one of the suspects, despite that they all wore masks during the robbery.
Upon realising that they were recognised, they attempted to return her phones, but she reported the matter to the police.
Ukagu was said to have pleaded with the police to give him another chance.
“I am sorry, they should pardon me,” he is quoted by New Telegraph as saying.
“If I do it again I should be hanged. I will not do it again.” On his part, Ohuru, said: “I collected the phone from her but I have returned it.”
