Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have won gold at the U-17 World Cup again.

Here are eight new grounds the lads broke on their way to supremacy in Chile 2015, our affiliate NET reports.

One.

Nigeria is the first country to win the trophy five times. The team also previously held the record of most wins with four trophies followed by Brazil who has won three times.

Two.

The star of the competition, Victor Osimhen, laid a new record of highest number of goals at the competition with 10 goals scored.

Three.

Osimhen also made another record as the first player to score in every match of the competition after netting 10 goals in seven matches.

Four.

President Muhammadu Buhari is the first country head to see his country lift the U-17 world cup twice. He was military head of state in 1985 when Nigeria won the first U-17 World Cup in China and has now seen the team emerged victorious again.

Five.

This is the first time the Golden Eaglets will be winning the trophy outside Asia. Nigeria’s previous wins: 1985 was in China; 1993 happened in Japan 2007 took place in Korea; and 2013 went down in the UAE… all in Asia. The Eaglets now rule South America.
