Nigerian runner Emmanuel Gyang “wins #LagosMarathon”

Well, as far as Nigerians are concerned, their Plateau State born country man is the winner. Period.
Emmanuel Gyang came seventh in the international sporting event unsurprisingly won by Kenyan, Abraham Kiptum.
Gyang will be going home with a million naira; Kiptum with $50,000 (about N9.9 million).
Kiptum may have taken all the money but it’s Gyang who’s winning hearts for giving the Kenya a run for his money.
There was no doubt a Kenyan would do the 42 kilometers before anyone else. You can’t beat Kenya when it comes down to long distance races.
Gyang is not doing this for the first time. He won the Lagos Beach Marathon in 2014 and the year before.
He also won the 2014 Obudu Mountain Race in the “Nigerian Category.”
