Edo: Soldier shoots 35 year old man at military checkpoint over N500 bribe

A 35-year-old man, Shafi’u Garba, popularly known as Ganda in his native Wudil community in Kano State was shot down on Saturday by a trigger-happy soldier who demanded a bribe.
According to sources, Shafi’u was travelling from Kano to Edo, he was flagged down by soldiers at a checkpoint between Auchi and Benin.
He was allegedly shot down by a Nigerian military officer identified as Sunday over a N500 bribe.
A witness named Sani Abdullahi, who was in a car with the deceased, said the soldier shot at Garba who died several hours later.
