“Don’t pay extra charges on recharge cards!” – Service provider warns Nigerians
Popular network provider, MTN, has warned all its subscribers not to pay additional charges besides what has been printed on recharge cards.
The telecommunications company issued the warning via a text message to all subscribers on Thursday afternoon.
Several recharge card outlets across the country, particularly in Lagos, have been selling recharge cards with additional N10 – N20 charges.
MTN’s message to its subscribers read: “Dear customer, please do not agree to pay more than the amount that is printed on any MTN recharge card.

It is unclear if other service providers, whose retailers have also added extra charges on airtime cards, would also follow MTN in denouncing the extra charges.
