“We don’t know who’ll sign 2017 Budget into law” – Lai Mohammed
Even with Acting President Yemi Osinbajo apparently in charge, the Nigerian government has said it is not sure of who will sign the 2017 Budget into law.
Osinbajo has been in charge since President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to London for medical reasons.
Buhari said he would not come back till his doctors allowed him to.
The National Assembly should forward the budget to the Presidency any time soon.
If Buhari doesn’t return before then, information minister Lai Mohammed said the government is unsure of who will sign the budget into law.
He said the decision would be made when lawmakers forward the budget to the Presidency.
Mohammed made the comments after today’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
