Dino Melaye finally surrenders, taken into SARS unit over allegations of arming thugs
Senator Dino Melaye has been arrested after police laid a 24-hour siege at his home in Abuja.
The embattled lawmaker was prevented from leaving the country for Morocco on Monday after policemen grounded his plane.
He was taken into custody and subsequently released. Dino, after securing his release from police custody, later cried out that his Abuja home had been besieged by police.
Dino said early Tuesday morning that he would surrender to the police who want him over allegations that he was arming political thugs to cause mayhem in Kogi.
“I will make myself available to the police today. My resolve to speak the truth and defend the poor masses of NIGERIA is Total. We shall overcome!!!,” he shared on Twitter.
He has now been taken to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad facility to be grilled on allegations by the suspected thugs.
