We collect offerings to get you out of poverty, Pastor Adeboye tells congregation
One of the most powerful pastors in the world, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) says his church, though wealthy, collects offering from members in order to get them out of poverty.
Adeboye was speaking at the opening of the annual Holy Ghost Congress with the theme, “Floodgates of Heaven” at the Redemption Camp.
In his message which was later posted on his Twitter handle, Adeboye said members who give offerings to the church are sending money to heaven as an investment.
He also asked those who are unsure of their salvation to desist from giving offerings in his church.
“From today if you are not sure of your salvation don’t ever give when it is time for offerings in RCCG,” he said.
The RCCG is one of the biggest Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. The New York Times has described it as “one of Africa’s most vigorously expansionary religious movements, a homegrown Pentecostal denomination that is crusading to become a global faith”.
