China to Raise Tariffs on All U.S. Goods to 125% in Response to Trump’s Tariff Hike


China’s Finance Ministry announced today that it will raise tariffs on all US goods from 84% to a staggering 125%, effective April 12, in a bold retaliation against recent US tariff hikes on Chinese imports.

The move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing trade war between the world’s two largest economies, which has impacted global markets.

Currently, China is facing a total of 145% tariff from the Trump’s administration. In the statement, China’s Finance Ministry dismissed the US tariffs and signaled it would not engage with further escalations from Washington.

“Given that there is no longer any possibility of market acceptance for US goods exported to China under the current tariff levels, if the US side subsequently continues to impose tariffs on Chinese goods exported to the US, the Chinese side will pay no attention to it,” the ministry said.
