Child Abuse: Mother burns 10-year-old daughter with pressing iron over N200 theft

Udeme Usen Etukudoh has been rescued from the brutal hands of her mother in Cross River.

The 10-year-old primary five pupil has been left with serious injuries allegedly inflicted by her mother, after she was accused of stealing N200.

A Samaritan had come to the little girl’s aid when she saw her getting treatment on her wounds at a pharmacy.

The Samaritan’s findings reportedly revealed the burns on Udeme were caused by a pressing iron which her mother, identified as Aniedi Etim Akpan allegedly used on her.

Aniedi also allegedly used a short wood to hit and tear open her right chin, just by her eye. Udeme’s stepfather and stepsister allegedly agreed that she stole the missing money, and were in support of the punishment she received from her mother.

Udeme, however, denied that she stole the money.

The Samaritan was reportedly led to Udeme’s biological father, Usen Okon Etukudoh, a bricklayer who lives just close to where she lives with her mother.

The father reportedly said Udeme had opted to stay with her mother after their separation.
