Catch every thrilling moment on EPL this weekend

This long weekend, fans and football lovers can look forward to a full slate of matches in the English Premier League only on DStv. Games between Newcastle and Liverpool, Tottenham and Leicester City, and Leeds United and Manchester City are sure to get everyone excited.

  • Newcastle vs Liverpool

Two of the Premier League’s in-form sides will kick off this weekend’s round of fixtures on Saturday, April 30, as Newcastle United plays Liverpool at St James’ Park.

For Newcastle, a combination of effective spending and the hard work of coach Eddie Howe has transformed the team from relegation zone team into top-half hopefuls for the finals of the season. Optimism could not be higher among the Magpies fanbase.

While the Magpies put three goals past Norwich City in their last meeting, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool defeated Villarreal 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-finals.

Will the hope keep rising for the Magpies after the match with Liverpool? Tune in to SuperSport Premier League and SuperSport Maximo 1 on DStv at 12:30 PM WAT to find out.

  • Aston Villa vs Norwich City

Aston Villa faces Norwich City at home in Villa Park at 3 PM WAT on April 30, having played at Leicester City last weekend in a game that ended 0-0. While it was only a draw, it was a crucial point for Aston Villa as they struggled in the Premier League. They have kept just a single clean sheet in their previous nine home Premier League games.

Norwich City makes the trip to Villa Park following a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United last weekend. Away form in the Premier League shows Norwich City have failed to win any of their previous five games, and this result means Norwich City have recorded just a single win in their last 12 matches in all competitions.

Will Aston Villa end their five-game winless run? Catch all the action on SuperSport Premier League and SuperSport Maximo 1.

  • Leeds United vs Manchester City

Manchester City makes the journey north to take on Leeds United at Elland Road in a huge clash this weekend. DStv subscribers can watch the face-off on SuperSport Premier League and SuperSport Maximo 1 at 5:30 PM this Saturday. The club takes another step closer to retaining their Premier League title under manager Pep Guardiola should they secure victory over a rejuvenated Leeds United side.

After marking their long-awaited return to the Premier League with back-to-back seven-goal thrillers against Liverpool and Fulham, Leeds United showed a different side to their game last weekend.

Will the Premier League champions get closer to their fourth English title through this match?

  • Everton vs Chelsea

Everton will go head to head with Chelsea on May 1. They need points, but Chelsea isn’t likely to roll over and hand any to them. They also need a win to safeguard their third-place spot on the table.

Coach Thomas Tuchel may have one eye on the FA Cup final against Liverpool, but games like this will give players the perfect opportunity to claim a Wembley starting place.

Can Everton close the gap on the teams above them, or will Chelsea move further clear in third?

The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport Premier League and SuperSport Maximo 1 at 2PM WAT this Sunday.

  • Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City

Following a boring goalless draw with Brentford, Tottenham will be aiming to climb to the Champions League berth when they take on Leicester City at 2 PM WAT this Sunday. Spurs are hoping to leap into the top four, but they will have to prove their worth on the field.

Leicester City, on the other hand, have little to play for in the season as they are ten points behind the Conference League berth. The Foxes have been struggling on the travels this term.

  • West Ham United vs Arsenal

Arsenal has Champions League qualification in their own hands, following their 3-1 victory over Manchester United last week and Tottenham’s draw with Brentford. But it’s far from guaranteed — not least because they still have to face Spurs in a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, West Ham still have a chance of qualifying for Europe’s top competition themselves, but that’s far more likely to come from winning the Europa League than making the top four.

Watch the two teams battle it out on Sunday at 4:30 PM on SuperSport Premier League and SuperSport Maximo 1.

  • Manchester United vs Brentford

Manchester United is going against Brentford on Monday, May 2, at Old Trafford stadium. The Red Devils faced an uphill battle in their pursuit of the Champions League after their loss against Arsenal last week.

The Bees head to Old Trafford and will be relishing the opportunity to impress on the big stage yet again, having won at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

DStv subscribers can catch the match at 8PM WAT on SuperSport Premier League, SuperSport Maximo 1, SuperSport Maximo 360; and SuperSport GOtv Football for GOtv subscribers.
