BRUTAL! Student, 22, slits throat of girlfriend of 8 years for refusing to abort pregnancy
A 22- year-old 300-level student of Jigawa State College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Ringim Ismail, has been arrested for allegedly slitting the throat of his girlfriend, Salamatu Garba, over her refusal to terminate a pregnancy she had for him.
Ismail had been in an 8-year relationship with the 22-year-old.
He said he planned to make Salamatu his wife, before she took in out of wedlock.
He said he decided to kill her after she refused to make a second attempt to terminate the pregnancy.
They had unsuccessfully attempted to terminate the pregnancy when it was 3-month-old, he revealed.
Ismail confessed that he took his lover on a motorcycle to the outskirts of the town, around 9pm on Saturday, where he used a knife to slit her throat.
He said he left her in a pool of her blood after she had collapsed.
