Barely 48hours after election, Donald Trump takes down planned Muslims’ ban from website

It hasn’t been up to 48hours since Donald Trump was officially declared as President-elect of the United States, and one of his many controversial policies already appears to have been binned.

If the content on Trump’s website is anything to go by, the billionaire-businessman might have softened his stance on his intention to “ban all Muslims from America” by taking down the statement.

Accordint to Daily Mail, the statement that “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on” had been on the site since December 2015.

“Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life,” part of the statement also read.

Critics had previously said that the Republican’s motive is highly unpractical and unrealistic because isolated incidents like Omar Mateen’s – an Islamic terrorist born in the U.S, who killed 49 people at a gay nightclub in Florida in June – would mean that the enactment of the law in a view to curb terrorism would be flawed.
