Banky W faults INEC for wrong misrepresentation of party logo on ballot paper

Banky W has faulted INEC for misrepresenting his original party logo on the ballot paper ahead of the general elections next month.

Banky, real name Bankole Wellington, is running for the House of Reps seat to represent the people of Eti-Osa LGA, Lagos.

He said on Thursday that his party, Modern Democratic Party (MDP) just found out the party logo was misrepresented and his name was also misspelt. He said efforts to ensure correction was made on the logo has been futile.

On election day, only the logos of participating political parties will be on ballot papers.

The MDP logo put on the ballot paper by INEC.

“The good news is we are on the ballot,” Banky said, adding that he has been left with no choice than to promote the logo provided by INEC.

The election is less than a month away and there are concerns the party would have little time to sensitise electorates on the change.

The error could also leave grounds for discontent from the MDP camp after election results are announced.
