APC Presidential primaries holds same day as Osun governorship re-run
The primary election to determine the presidential candidate of the APC at the 2019 election will now hold Thursday, September 27.
The election was initially scheduled to hold Tuesday, September 25.
The party’s Organising Secretary, Emma Ibediro had announced a revised timetable for all the party’s primaries last week.
Ibediro had announced that the Governorship primary election will hold September 29, while the Senate, House of Reps, State House of Assembly, and the Presidential National Convention will hold on October 2, 3, 4 and 6 respectively.
The postponement for the presidential primaries which was announced on Sunday now means it will clash with the re-run of the governorship election in Osun State involving APC’s Gboyega Oyetola and PDP’s Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The National Assembly announced on Sunday that it was postponing its resumption from its annual recess for two weeks – September 25 to October 9 – because of primary elections being conducted by political parties.
