APC Governors Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Presidential Race
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election.
The endorsement was announced on Thursday at the APC National Policy Summit in Abuja, where Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Hope Uzodimma, made a passionate case for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Addressing party stakeholders, Uzodimma declared that the APC governors were fully aligned in their support for the president’s second term, emphasising continuity as essential to national progress.
“For Nigeria to reach its destination faster in prosperity,” Uzodimma said, “the president should be adopted as our flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election.”
He further charged APC governors to actively promote federal government policies and secure electoral victories in their respective states.
“It is my humble pleasure to move that this August assembly adopt and concur with the position of progressive governors that Mr. President carries our flag in 2027,” Uzodimma stated, putting the motion forward with “total humility to Almighty God.”
The motion was swiftly seconded by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who praised Tinubu’s leadership and urged the party to rally behind him.
“I rise to second the motion that this gathering pass a vote of confidence on our able and amiable president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the sole candidate of APC come the 2027 general election,” Sani said.
