August 13, 2018
The Super Falconets will advance to the quarter finals of the Under 20 Women’s World Cup following a 95th minute strike by Rasheedat Ajibade to bring the score level against China.
The Asian country had taken the lead in the 41st minute through Zhang Linyan, leaving the Falconets to battle for a much needed goal to secure qualification into the next round.
The Falconets finished on four points from three matches, while China failed to go past the group stage on three points.
Three-time champions Germany won the group after they beat Haiti 3-2 for their third win in as many matches.
Ajibade was the team’s leading scorer in the qualifiers with 10 goals in six games.
