Air Peace adds to its fleet, spends $1.17bn on 10 Boeing 737 MAX
Nigerian carrier Air Peace is set to add another set of aircraft to its fleet, its CEO, Allen Onyema has announced.
Onyema said the aircraft, ten (10) Boeing 737 MAX 8, will cost Air Peace $1.17 billion.
At the moment, the carrier operates a fleet of 13 Boeing 737-300/500s between major cities in Central and West Africa.
“We are excited to add the 737 MAX to our fleet as we expand our network to offer more destinations and serve more passengers,” he said.
“The fuel efficiency and superior operating economics of the 737 MAX will ensure that the aircraft will play a major role in growing our business in the years to come.”
The Senior VP of Commercial Sales and Marketing at Boeing, Ihssane Mounir, hailed the move, saying that it “reflects the strong demand” for the 737 MAX by airlines for its “superior performance and reliability.”
Air Peace, which also operates to Gambia, Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone, hasn’t clearly stated in what capacities the aircraft would be used.
The airline recently launched new services to Accra, Freetown Banjul Dakar, and Monrovia.
