Adorable cassava farmer urges Buhari to “bring agriculture back to life”

Ogechukwu Kate, the Nigerian student who went viral after expressing her love for farming, has a message for President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Agriculture, we were taught back in our elementary school, is the oldest occupation of man,” Kate wrote on Facebook.

“Every individual, no matter how sophisticated, depends on agricultural products to survive. What are you waiting for? Think of a sector in agriculture you can invest in. Snail rearing, fish farming, poultry farming, crop production, among other areas to consider.

“Agriculture can develop a country if only the government will encourage its citizens by providing an outlet where people can bring their agricultural products. Then the government will buy it and export it to other countries because the government is the only entity which has all it takes to push those products out.

“With this, both the aged, youth, rich and poor will venture into agriculture because they know that at the end of the day there will be money in their pockets.

“I call on our government to bring our agricultural sector back to life,” Kate wrote.

Let’s hope Buhari gets the message.
