A candidate of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, John Ezekwe has drowned in the swimming pool of a hotel during a friend’s birthday party.
The deceased who was said to be a Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) student at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, drowned on Old INEC Road, Awka South.
According to one of Ezekwe’s friends, Etz Perfect, his mother had tried to stop him from going to the birthday party but he refused.
