9 die as reckless driver collides with truck on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

At least nine persons have died in an accident on Lagos – Ibadan expressway early Tuesday morning.
According to the FRSC, the accident occurred when a Mercedes-Benz Marcopolo bus collided with a stationary Iveco truck at Aseese area of the road around 5:30 am.
The agency’s Sector Commander in Ogun, Clement Oladele told NAN that the driver of the bus was over-speeding.
“A total of 42 persons were involved in the accident; they comprised 34 males and eight females.
“Three male and two female adults were injured while seven male and two female adults died,” he said.
Oladele said the injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital while the corpses were deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital mortuary, Sagamu, Ogun State.
