80-year-old herbalist, others, pluck police Sergeant’s eyes for charm in Katsina
Police in Katsina have arrested an 80-year old herbalist and two other suspects for allegedly plucking out the eyes of a Sergeant.
The suspects allegedly aimed to use their victim’s eyes for an invisible jacket in Jos, Plateau State.
Police commissioner in Katsina, Muhammadu Wakili, said on Wednesday that the suspects were identified as Abubakar Muhammed, 28, and Abubakar Sani, 35.
Wakili said the Sergeant who was murdered was a mobile policeman on special duty called Operation Safe Haven in Jos.
“He was on Mufti when the suspects attacked him and plucked his eyes out before killing him,” the police boss said.
The suspects reportedly confessed to the police that they told the herbalist, Ussaini Musa, that they wanted an invisible jacket to rob a house. They said Musa told them to bring an eye of a human being who was alive to make the jacket.
“They will be arraigned immediately investigation is completed,” Wakili said.
He added that the eyes of the deceased Sergeant were parts of the items recovered from the arrested suspects.
