Ten people feared dead as fresh crisis erupts in Plateau

A fresh attack carried out by a group of unknown gunmen has reportedly left at least ten people dead with five others injured in Plateau state.

Residents have been thrown into panic at what seems to be the harbinger of an impending crisis.

The attack is reportedly coming in less than a week after the Special Task force unit deployed to maintain peace in the state had safely returned more than 200 people in the IDP camps in Jos back to their villages.

The volatile security situation in Plateau has seen many residents of the state deserting their villages at the behest of violent attacks by gunmen who kill everyone they come across.

Among those killed in the new attack were five people who were shot dead in a hotel at Gwol and five others who were attacked in Rawuru community. Ten people died in total while they were still involved in Christmas celebrations.

The community leader of Rawuru community, Mr Francis Chong confirmed the incident and expressed disappointment on the continuous killing of innocent people in the state.
