2019 Election: Atiku, Murray-Bruce lead party to Obasanjo’s residence
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is again seeking the good eye of his nemesis, former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo has, since 2007, expressed his disapproval of any political office for Atiku. He had alleged that his former deputy was corrupt, while swearing that he would not support his presidential bid.
Atiku, however, seeks the former military leader’s support of his 2019 presidential bid. He, along with other notable party members, journeyed down to Obasanjo’s Hilton-top residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Thursday.
In attendance at the meeting were Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, party Chairman Uche Secondus, former Ogun governor Gbenga Daniel, and some religious leaders.
Covenant University founder and Winners’ Chapel General Overseer, Bishop Oyedepo was also in attendance.
Details of the meeting were still unknown as at Thursday afternoon.
