Yinka Obebe calls for clearer understanding of growth stages in emerging creative fields at NECLive 2025

During the NECLive 2025, Yinka highlighted the need for developing economies to understand where their creative industries are in terms of growth and maturity.

He noted that radio and television have decades of institutional knowledge that can be transferred to emerging creative sectors but only if stakeholders intentionally evaluate the evolving ecosystem.

“We need to take a step back and understand the spaces and areas these mediums support, including physical spaces,” he said.
He argued that properly mapping the ecosystem will help Nigeria and other African countries build structures that last.
