“Yahoo boy” posing as female sentenced to 1 year imprisonment
May 31, 2018
As the clampdown on internet fraudsters in Nigeria continues, one Olowatobiloba Badejo was found guilty and convicted of the crime on Wednesday.
Badejo had in 2016 posed as a woman with the name Lynda Andrew to get money from one Manuel Alberto Rama Carracedo.
The court ordered him to return the N124,937 sum he fraudulently obtained from his victim and also forfeit to the Federal Government a Dell laptop computer, which he used “as the instrumentality of fraud.”
He was sentenced to a year in prison.
