Clash of Champions and other WWE actions to watch on DStv this weekend

Another thrilling week of action awaits fans of WWE on SuperSport with live airings of the NXT, SmackDown and Raw shows running from Thursday 24 to Tuesday September 29, 2020 as Monday September 28 also brings another Pay-Per-View special, with Clash of Champions live from the WWE Thunderdome!

The action began on the morning of Thursday September 24 with WWE NXT Episode 583. New NXT champion Finn Balor has laid down the gauntlet, saying he is ready to take on all comers who have ambitions of claiming his title.

“Finn Balor. Adam Cole. Everyone wanted to know: who is the greatest? Adam, you are undisputed. But there’s only one prince. The questions keep coming. What’s it like to be champion four years apart? How is NXT different then versus now? How will this reign be different than the last?” said Balor.

“In the past: media tours, autograph signing, public appearances, build the brand, carry the brand, be the brand. But the future is a lot different. I don’t need the brand. I made the brand and now the brand needs me. Finn Balor being champion makes this the most important title in the game.

“It doesn’t matter what country, it doesn’t matter what brand, it doesn’t matter what night… because I’ve been fighting for 20 years to be champion. So now it’s time for people to start fighting to face the champion. So form a queue, because the line starts here.”

Saturday September 26 brings Episode 1101 of WWE SmackDown, where the simmering rivalry between former best friends Bayley and Sasha Banks looks ready to explode.

“Bayley, you are nothing without me,” said ‘The Boss’ in a promo, while wearing a neck brace following her recent injuries. But that didn’t stop Bayley blind siding her with a vicious attack backstage.

The latest Pay-Per-View arrives on the morning of Monday September 28, with Clash of Champions. This event will see each and every singles and tag-team belt put on the line, headlined by the clashes for the WWE Championship (Drew McIntyre v Randy Orton) and Universal Championship (Roman Reigns v Jey Uso).

The clash between cousins Reigns and Uso promises to be a feisty one. With nefarious manager Paul Heyman in his corner, ‘The Big Dog’ has risen to championship prominence but Uso, known more his skills within a tag-team with his twin brother, is determined to prove that he is worthy of holding the belt.

Reigns, however, insists that won’t be the case: “At WWE Clash of Champions. That’s not gonna be your moment,” he told Uso on a recent episode of SmackDown.  Tuesday 29 September will feature Episode 1427 of WWE Raw, with superstars surely nursing their bruises – and possibly egos! – after the Pay-Per-View the night before. Expect some thunderous responses and key matches as superstars jostle for position going forward.
