Woman who shot up YouTube HQ hated company’s demonetisation policy
The woman who shot up the YouTube Headquarters in San Bruno, California on Tuesday, has been identified as Nasim Aghdam.
Aghdam was a 38-year-old vegan activist and YouTuber who was disgruntled at YouTube’s demonetization of videos.
She had accused the video sharing platform of taking down her video without violating any rules.
“They age-restricted my ab workout video — a video that has nothing bad in it, nothing sexual. Why did they do that? Because it got famous and was getting many views,” she alleged.
Before the shooting, Aghdam’s father said she had been missing for 2 days. She was found in her car sleeping at 2am Tuesday morning by Mountain View police.
Her father told police that she might be going to YouTube because she hated the company. Police told her father everything was “in control.”
Aghdam injured about four persons in the shooting before shooting herself dead.
