Wife fakes kidnap of herself, daughter to defraud husband of N15m
Hadijat Kabir apparently needed to collect money from her husband, but allegedly had to fake her kidnap to achieve her aim.
Police in Lagos arrested the mother of one, who was described as not being of sound mind, for conniving with suspected kidnappers to defraud her husband of N15 million.
Police say Hadijat’s husband, Kabir Muraino, had reported last Thursday that his wife and 18-year-old daughter were kidnapped on their way to Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos.
The Anti-Kidnapping Squad was said to have swung into action immediately, and they succeeded in arresting some of the suspects in Ado-Odo, Ogun State.
After getting ‘rescued’, Hadijat, according to the police, confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects. She reportedly said she hatched the plan to defraud her husband.
