Widow of Obasanjo’s ex-ADC alleges invasion of residence by hoodlums, policemen
Safiya Mamman-Jemitola, widow of the late Chris Jemitola, a former aide-de-camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has accused some police officers and unidentified individuals of unlawfully invading her matrimonial home in Abuja.
Mamman-Jemitola alleged that the group stormed the residence under the pretext of serving court documents and was led to the property by Caleb Jemitola, her late husband’s son.
In multiple posts shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, she said the men arrived with armed police officers but failed to properly identify themselves. According to her, they claimed to be accompanied by a court bailiff.
The widow alleged that the group forcefully gained access to the house by breaking down the main gate, front door, and other security doors.
“Men from the Nigeria Police Force (FID, JPU) broke into my matrimonial home under the guise of trying to serve me a court process,” she wrote.
“They broke down my gate, front door and other security doors leading to my matrimonial home. All these men came without identifying themselves.”
Mamman-Jemitola questioned the conduct of the police, describing the incident as part of a pattern of harassment and intimidation.
“How many of your men are required to serve a widow who has not had a moment’s rest to grieve?” she asked, adding that this was the fourth time police officers had been used against her.
She further claimed that her life has been under threat from Caleb Jemitola, his associates, and some police personnel.
The widow also shared video clips online showing men, accompanied by police officers, forcefully breaking into the residence.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force had not responded to the allegations.
