Why Election Results for Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa Will Be Uploaded on IReV in Real-Time
Five days before the off-cycle gubernatorial election in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the technological glitches experienced during the presidential election on February 25, 2023, have been resolved.
Mary Nkem, INEC’s Acting Director of Voter Education and Publicity, made this statement on Sunday, November 6, 2023.
“There was a technological glitch, and it might interest you to know that if you access the IReV now, all those results are on the IReV. The only issue was that they couldn’t be uploaded in real-time, but they were uploaded later on,” Nkem said.
Regarding the upcoming election scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023, Nkem mentioned that the mock exercise conducted by the commission showed that “all the results were on the IReV two hours,” after the exercise.
