Why Atedo Peterside left Nigerian Breweries board
Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc has announced the resignation of Atedo Peterside from its board of directors.
The leading beverage company in a statement on its LinkedIn page notified the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and the investing public of Peterside’s resignation.
The 65-year-old banker and founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc resigned from Nigerian Breweries to focus on his Atedo N.A. Peterside (ANAP) Foundation COVID-19 Think Tank, which he set up to support and enhance government’s efforts in the fight against the deadly virus causing global lockdown.
“His resignation from our Board is to enable him to focus fully on fulfilling the objectives of that Think Tank. Mr. Atedo joined our Board on August 21, 2008, and was an invaluable contributor to the progress made by the Company during his time on the Board,” NB said in the statement.
His resignation takes effect on April 1.
Peterside is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc since 2010, and also sits on the Board of Directors of Flour Mills of Nigeria.
