Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a public apology to residents over the severe traffic congestion that paralyzed parts of the city yesterday and this morning. Speaking on behalf of both the State and Federal Governments, the Governor acknowledged the frustration caused by the gridlock and assured Lagosians that the inconvenience was necessary to prevent a looming disaster.

According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the repair work on the affected bridge—being handled by Messrs Buildwell Construction—had been in the pipeline for over three years. He emphasized that the decision to proceed with the repairs now was critical to ensuring public safety.

While urging residents to remain patient, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and traffic management across Lagos. He assured commuters that efforts were underway to minimize the impact of the ongoing repairs and restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
