Wedding crusher: Dead rat surfaces in beef stew, sends guests home in disgust
An otherwise perfect wedding banquet was ruined, last week, after guests discovered a dead rat floating in their beef stew.
The huge rodent was found lying in the hot dish during the noon celebrations on February 13 at a restaurant in Wanzhou District, Chongqing, reports the People’s Daily Online.
Disgusted guests left the wedding banquet at the Ba Da Wan Restaurant immediately afterwards, but some took pictures of the shocking development and shared it online.
The Wanzhou District food and drug administration department, responsible for regulating food safety, said it received the complaint on the said death.
The agency said it was likely the beef dish was not covered after it was cooked and the rat fell into the pot, eventually drowning in the stew, Dailymail reports.
