“We Are Ready for Any Type of War with the U.S.” – China
China has hit back at the United States over new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, accusing Washington of using the fentanyl crisis as a “flimsy excuse” to escalate a trade war.
In a strongly worded statement, Beijing dismissed U.S. claims that China is responsible for the fentanyl epidemic, insisting that “the U.S., not anyone else, is responsible for the #FentanylCrisis inside the U.S.”
“The U.S. has sought to smear and shift blame to China and is seeking to pressure and blackmail China with tariff hikes. They’ve been PUNISHING us for helping them,” the statement read.
Trump’s administration announced a 10% tariff on all Chinese imports last month, followed by an additional 10% hike this week. China has responded by imposing its own tariffs, including a 15% duty on U.S. chicken, wheat, corn, and cotton, alongside a 10% tariff on sorghum, soybeans, pork, beef, and dairy products.
“Intimidation does not scare us. Bullying does not work on us. Pressuring, coercion, or threats are not the right way of dealing with China. Anyone using maximum pressure on China is picking the wrong guy and miscalculating,” Beijing warned.

The U.S. has also imposed heavy tariffs on its North American neighbors, slapping a 25% duty on imports from Mexico and most Canadian goods. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the move “a violation of our trade agreement” and announced retaliatory tariffs of up to 25% on $125 billion worth of American goods.
China, meanwhile, made it clear that it would not back down.
“If war is what the U.S. wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war, or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight till the end,” the statement concluded.
